Zensor's comments:
Our first out-door job - without anything but daylight and beer to enhance our appearance, and a none too stable black shamble of steel and canvas serving as stage.
Musikkens Dag in Oslo is a great event, in many ways, and it's easy to be goodmooded, especially when you can relax and enjoy, for free, several good bands before you get the chance yourself to toss yer two cents in.
This was a no soundcheck scenario: We had to trust Mads and his presets, and had no problems doing so. Despite the limitations on sound - Blocked settings for security, discant speakers mounted upside down etc - the crew did haul a good effort to wave in the worst. (Just a bit of admiration to the boys crawling under the rig during play - We had no reason to assume it would not collapse, and risking ones health, perhaps life, for some few minutes of noise, is an (irresponsible, insane, heroic) act worthy of praise. Thanks again.)
We were the last ones out on this stage, and the audience was readily awaiting. As Sick Puppy hit, kids jumped the fence and started a moshpit - and we were irrevocably off into the land of drones, tapes and trauma revisited. Things were looking fit to program when after the end of Residuum, a girl managed to get onstage with a flower and a hug. ( This took us back a bit, but we can assure the audience that the seemingly violent way of dispatching her, was in fact a gentle attempt to make her not fall, drunk as she was and legs rooted to the spot when pushed. The clothes tore because they were thin - No worries.) After this, frustration set in to provide a nasty version of Intimat - ending the evening smirkless.
Swallow the left over gloom and head home. This might not be therapeutic after all.
